Ur Fascism – Umberto Eco

Eco grew up in the Italian fascist state, and so has first-hand perspective on what fascism is and how it operates.  This is a deeply revealing read about how we accomodate for and handle differences in society – the ability to work together is what forms the basis of democratic society.  There are some very stirring examples and poignant moments in this essay – definitely worth taking into account while considering our contemporary political arena.
