The Importance of Emotion in ADHD – Dr Russell Barkley

Interesting talk. I’m not sure I agree with all his conclusions, – e.g. I understand the argument for early intervention, though I am more hesitant around giving kids drugs.. and I lean more towards our ability to learn to influence and intentionally develop – so, often awareness of the dynamics involved with a problem give us the working blocks to start puzzling our way through, and seeing what levers we can play. He refers to some other talks earlier in the day and I will look for those too – interesting considerations regarding ‘executive control.’ And how he points out the inter-generational feedback loop – very interesting..

I wonder what his take on practices like lojong would be.
